A mixture can also be heterogeneous, meaning a mixture made up of more than one phase or of different parts and can be separated physically. A heterogeneous mixture can be a tossed salad or a bowl of raisin bran cereal.

heterogeneous: meaning a mixture made up of more than one phase or of different parts and can be separated physically, for example a glass of juice with some ice on it.
