Carbunculosisis an infectious dermal disease related to the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus.
It is recognized by the presence of two or more furuncles that grow deep in the skin and soft tissues, resulting in a serious pathology if not treated properly. This is because they can affect other organs or parts of the body through the blood torrent.
It can appear in any area of the body, but more frequently in areas exposed to the friction of clothing. It can also appear as a consequence of a bad shave thecnique, as a result of the intake of anti-cancer drugs or prolonged treatments with steroids, obesity, poor hygiene or a repressed immune system.
