This story was entitled "Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass". It was an autobiography that tells of his journey as a baby born into slavery to a man who escaped into freedom. His ultimate realization was that man is truly free if everyone is free. Thus, he became an abolitionist activist and this book was his way of teaching others that they too can free themselves just as he did.
