If it requires 23.4 milliliters of 0.65 molar barium hydroxide to neutralize 42.5 milliliters of nitric acid, solve for the molarity of the nitric acid solution. Show all of the work used to solve this problem. (4 points)

Respuesta :

Ba(OH)₂ + 2HNO₃ = Ba(NO₃)₂ + 2H₂O

c₁=0.65 mol/L
v₁=23.4 mL = 0.0234 L
v₂=42.5 mL = 0.0425 L

2n{Ba(OH)₂}=n(HNO₃)

n{Ba(OH)₂}=c₁v₁
n(HNO₃)=c₂v₂

2c₁v₁=c₂v₂

c₂=2c₁v₁/v₂

c₂=2*0.65*0.0234/0.0425=0.7158 mol/L
