the recipe is: fill in the x value and simplify
f(1/3) = 1 / (1/3 - 4) = 1 / (-11/3) = -3/11
g(1/3) = 1 / (1/3) + 1 = 3 + 1 = 4
etc...
with fractions, remember that dividing by a fraction is like multiplying with the opposite, e.g., 1 / (1/3) = 1 * (3/1) = 3.
