The right of legation is the right that a state has to send a diplomatic mission to a foreign state. The right of legation also cover the right to receive diplomatic missions from other states. 

A legation can be defined as the diplomatic representative office considered of a lower rank as compared to other embassies. In the states where the embassy was the ambassador then the legation is headed as the minister of that place.

The right of legation is the right that sends and receives diplomatic representatives from one official place to another nation for matters of diplomacy. It can also be understood as those rights accredited to envoy other states and it becomes obligations of the diplomatic representatives for those accredited states.
