I believe that take-home backpacks is a good way to engage parents and children in two- way communication. The parent will go through the back pack and see the information that the school has sent home. Then in the evening or at dinner the parent and child can discuss the information that the school has sent home. The parent can show the information to the child and the child can explain. Hopefully this can not place the child on the defensive
