60x+50y=4800

x+y=85


Where x is the large box and y is the small box



x+y=85  ------->    -50x-50y=-4250
                             60x+50y=4800
                             ____________
                             10x        =550

x=55

y=85-55
  =30


The answer is that the large box is 55 pounds and the small box is 30 pounds.
