 A drought in South Africa would, if prolonged, most likely reduce water supply due to more rapid evaporation of open bodies of water and less or no recharge to aquifers so this would lead to scarcity of water for the South African people. Also, it would affect agriculture as there not be enough water to irrigate the fields of crops so agricultural yield could go down and the prices of food go up.

  2. It lead to an increase in the level of unemployment. This is because a large population are employed in the agricultural industry.
