It was not just a war fighting for sovereignty. It was a middle finger to all of the european monarchies saying " hey liberalism is growing" and it is not going any where. These people were not just under military oppression, they were put under divine right oppression.

Arguably you can say that if the American Revolution did not happen, the French Revolution would have never happen which in the end set off beautiful things happening all across of Europe and South America( Napoleonic wars spread liberal ideas and a sh1t ton south american colonies) Since the American Revolution was a victory  it did inspire the french people to take arms against their own king and showed french people that liberalism is actually possible and you don't need a king to eat, sleep, and work.

The American Revolution was caused by the First Continental Congress which did not go so far as to request independence from Britain, but it condemned taxation without representation and the sustenance of the British force in the colonies without their permission. It delivered a declaration of the rights due to every resident, comprising life, property, liberty, assembly, and trial by jury.

EXPLANATION:

The American Revolution, so-called the American War of Independence or the American Revolutionary War, (1775-1883), a rebellion in which 13 North American colonies of Great Britain won political independence and subsequently formed the United States. The war came after more than a decade of growing alienation between the British crown and the large and powerful part of its North American colonies caused by British efforts to declare greater control over colonial affairs after long holding on a policy of neglect that helpful.

Until the beginning of 1778, the conflict was considered a civil war within the British Empire, but after that, it became a worldwide war when Spain (1779) and France (1778) tied the colonies counter to Britain. In the meantime, the Netherlands, which gave official credit to the financial provision and the United States, was involved in its own battle counter to Britain.

Since the beginning, sea power was crucial in deciding the course of the war, giving flexibility to the British strategy to help offset the relatively small number of forces sent to America and ultimately allowing France to help bring about Britain's final surrender in Yorktown.
