Given H(6,7) and I (-7,-6) if point G lies 1/2 of the way long line segment HI, Santiago argues that point G is located at the origin. Is Santiago Correct. Justify your answer

Respuesta :

A point that is half way of line segment is the midpoint

Let (6, 7) be (x₁, y₁) and (-7, -6) be (x₂, y₂)

Mid point of HI = ([tex] \frac{x_1+x_2}{2}, \frac{y_1+y_2}{2} [/tex])
Mid point of HI = ([tex] \frac{6+-7}{2}, \frac{7+-6}{0}) [/tex]
Mid point of HI = ([tex]- \frac{1}{2} , \frac{1}{2} [/tex])

Santiago's statement is not correct
