(1.) Language usage, through writing in particular styles and using a particular scope of vocabulary, the press can influence the language use and writing/spoken style of the populus; (2.) Political views, the press can easily put a spin on a particular political opinion through clever word choice and framing of events, this can sway readers to vote differently, often, newspapers and TV channels will press the political opinion of their senior management upon the content of their media; (3.) Critical Thinking: the way articles are written and argued informs readers of a way to critically engage with ideas and issues in society and culture, therefore the press can influence the process by which we evaluate opinions which can have a direct impact upon our identity through how we see others and make decisions.
