I did not know what your question implied; so I answered it both ways.
rm ÷ rn
= [tex] \frac{rm}{rn} = \frac{m}{n} [/tex]
[tex] r^{m} [/tex] ÷ [tex] r^{n} [/tex]
= [tex] \frac{ r^{m} }{ r^{n} } = r^{m - n} [/tex]
rm ÷ rn
= [tex] \frac{rm}{rn} = \frac{m}{n} [/tex]
[tex] r^{m} [/tex] ÷ [tex] r^{n} [/tex]
= [tex] \frac{ r^{m} }{ r^{n} } = r^{m - n} [/tex]
