So, who ever actually sleeps for an entire decade? Well, practically no one! This means that this is an exageration. 

It's pushing something to an extreme level which would never even happen. Specifically, this is known as a hyperbole. A hyperbole is a purposeful overstatement of such, often for comedic effect.
