apply the kinetic theory to describe the motion of particles in a homogeneous mixture of sugar and water is boiled.

Respuesta :

When salt is boiled with water, negative and positive ions of chlorine and sodium feel atracted by positive and negative ions of hydrogen and oxygen. This potential energy goes from up to down when they displace to where they felt atracted. The same that happens when you let a ball fall down to the floor.

When the solution is boiled, the molecules of water which are smaller than that of sugar, will move faster and escape from the bond in form of evaporation leaving behind the sugar molecules.

In a homogenous mixture, the particles in the solution are evenly dispersed. According to kinetic theory of matter, increase in the temperature of the particle causes an increase in the rate of collision of the particles.

When the homogenous sugar solution is boiled, the solution gains additional kinetic energy which causes an increase in the speed of  particles of the solutions.

However, the molecules of water are smaller than that of sugar, this will cause the water molecules to escape from the bond and evaporate into the air leaving behind the sugar molecules.
