Think. Each monkey has his own banana. The only time it will take more than three minutes is if ten monkeys eat twenty bananas. In that case, then, the monkeys will take six minutes.
Therefore, ten monkeys will eat ten bananas in 3 minutes.
I personally had this question in my Singapore Math textbook. It read: "Three cats eat three fish in three minutes. If they all start at the same time, how many minutes will it take one hundred cats to eat one hundred fish?" I instinctively scribbled, "100," but the answer was three minutes.
