if we write 0.2 and 0.5 in fraction form
0.2 -> 2/10
0.5 -> 5/10
when comparing 2 fractions when the denominator is the same then the fraction with the larger numerator is the larger fraction .
In this case the 2 fractions are [tex]\frac{5}{10} and \frac{2}{10}[/tex]
denominator is 10 and common for both
then we can directly compare the numerators . 5 is greater than 2 therefore
[tex] \frac{5}{10} \ \textgreater \ \frac{2}{10} [/tex]
this means that
0.2 is less than 0.5
0.2 < 0.5
0.2 -> 2/10
0.5 -> 5/10
