During Benito Mussolini's government, fascism was the ruling system in Italy.  Some of the characteristics of Italian Fascism are:

  • Benito Mussolini was a figure of worship and idolatry.
  • Nationalist beliefs were prominent.
  • It was an anti-communist, liberalist and totalitarian force.  
  • The State is the absolute authority of power that was regarded before every individual.

This form of government ended once Mussolini was executed in 1945.
