The graph of f(x) = 2x + 1 is shown below. Explain how to find the average rate of change between x = 0 and x = 3.
I'm having trouble explaining it

The graph of fx 2x 1 is shown below Explain how to find the average rate of change between x 0 and x 3 Im having trouble explaining it class=

Respuesta :

average rate of change between x = 0 and x = 3

= value of f(x) at x = 3 - value at x = 0         2(3) + 1 - (2(0) + 1)
   ------------------------------------------------    =    ------------------------  = (7-1)/3 = 2
                     3 - 1                                                  3

Answer is 2

It is 2 to the x, not 2x -- if x=3 that means it's 2 cubed or 2x2x2 or 8 +1 = 9, not 7
