The event that occured after the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775 was that George Washington became commander of the American army and began to organize it.

The Continental Congress appointed George Washington commander in chief of a Continental army. He was selected based on his success in the French-Indian wars, his Virginia citizenship, the wealthiest and most populous province along with all his personal features that become him a leader. In  the Battle of Bunker Hill  British claimed victory with a large number of causalities.
