Three examples of when negative numbers are used in daily life are...
1) Measuring weight--Finding out an amount of weight lost over the course of a fitness program
2) Measuring income--Let's say if someone's income had a 20% decrease, then you could say "Mary-Sue's income over the year had an overall of a -20% growth."
3) In golf--below par
4) (This is an extra if you don't like one of the other examples) Sea depth, and temperatures.
