Can someone help me write an equation and solve it for this word problem?

Two is subtracted from a number, and then the difference is multiplied by 5. The result is 30. Find the number.

30/5=6+2=8 
Eight would be the number

The number is 8, because if 2 is subtracted from 8 and 8 - 2 = 6 then 6 * 5 = 30
