How were the experiences of enslaved Africans taken to Brazil, the Caribbean islands, and North America similar?

Throughout the colonies, most were made to work on large plantations.

Children born into slavery were generally released once they reached adulthood.

In most cases, they were sold with one or more family members.

As valued cargo, they were transported in mostly safe conditions.

Most were enslaved solely for working on large plantations where manual work was required. They were all considered cargo or property and were often sold as one would sell cattle. The treatment, however, different in the kindness afforded to slaves, some countries were much kinder to their slaves than others. None of them were considered human beings.
