Uremia or uremic poisoning is the toxic condition in which urea and waste products are retained in the bloodstream. It results from kidney failure and can be life-threatening if not treated. It is treated with dialysis and sometimes a kidney transplant. Symptoms can include fatigue, leg cramping, loss of appetite, nausea, and difficulty concentrating.
