Consider the line in the coordinate plane that passes through the point (-5, 2) and the origin. Find the slope of a line perpendicular to the line described.
A) - 2/5
B) - 5/2
C) 1/2
D) 5/2

Respuesta :

the origin is (0,0)

(-5,2)(0,0)
slope = (0 - 2) / (0 - (-5) = -2 / 5

a perpendicular line will have a negative reciprocal slope. To find the negative reciprocal we flip the slope and change the sign. So we have -2/5....flip it and it becomes -5/2...change the sign and it becomes 5/2. So the perpendicular line will have a slope of 5/2.
Hello

D) would be your answer
