The chlorophyll in a plants leaves absorbs light energy from the sun which is then later used to make glucose and oxygen. Consumers eat the plants to get nutrients. Consumers get their energy from the food they eat.

Well, the sun shoots it's powerful rays against the plants which is known as photosynthesis, which makes plants grow then once the plant or tree produces it goods, it gets picked and off to the store it goes.. So the consumer can pick it up and eat it...
