Okay there are two ways this problem can be approached. The best method I would recommend is to turn the 25 into a like fraction so that we can add them together. So first we are going to place a 2 at the bottom of 25 ------> 25/2. We always have to remember that whatever we do to the bottom we do to the top. So, since we made the bottom a two which is technically an invisible one, we are going to multiply the top (25) by 2 which will give us 50. So now we have 50/2+5/2, which when we add together will give us 55/2. In some cases if we can we will reduce the fraction however in this case we cannot.
