the difference is that the 2 discounts together is taking that discount off of the original price but if you have them separate then the 2 discounts are for different things. since the the 1st one is off the original price and the 2nd on e would be off the 1st discounted price.
well you see, when two discounts have combined the discount, is used on the original price.
when you apply them separately then the second discount is applied after the first is applied ending in a completely different solution
ex1: 25% + 25%=50% off $200 is $100
ex2: 25% off $200 is $150
and 25% off $150 is $112.5
the endings are completely different
