The CONVECTIVE ZONE is the region of the Sun where energy moves through circulating currents of gases.
The Sun is divided into three main regions; its interior, the solar atmosphere, and the visible "surface" of the Sun.
In the Sun's interior, there are three main parts; The core (Sun's center), the Radiative zone (where energy are carried outwards by photons as thermal radiation), and convective or convection zone (named after the dominant mode of energy flow where heat moves upward through roiling convection).
The photosphere separates the sun's interior from its solar atmosphere. The lower part of the solar atmosphere is called chromosphere and its upper part is called the corona.
