The Continental Association is an agreement to boycott all British imports and to stop exporting to Britain and its colonies. This immediate ban took effect on December 1, 1774. The First Continental Congress created this system in the hopes of pressuring Great Britain into repealing the Intolerable Acts which were passed by the British Parliamentary.
