The length of a rectangle is three times it’s width. The perimeter of the rectangle is 100 inches. What are the dimensions of the rectangle?

Respuesta :

Geometry? Easy!

Lets start with the width. Width = x
Length of the triangle = 3x
Perimeter = 100.

Perimeter Formula = 2(l+b)
                       100 = 2(x+3x)
                       100/2 = 4x
                         50 = 4x
                         50/4 = x
                       12.5 inches = x = width   3x (12.5 x 3) = 37.5 inches = length.
