ok I'm guessing they want you to either add or subtract both linear equations to cancel out one of the variables.
so I would first multiply everything in the top equation by 2.
which will give you 6x+4y=-32.
then you have to multiply the bottom equation by 3.
which will give you -6x+9y=45.
now that you have both the equations you have to add them both together, by doing so you cancel out the x variable.
now you have 13y=13
so y=1
Ok now we are going to do the same thing but now we are going to try to cancel the y variable.
so multiply the top by three and the bottom by 2 and subtract them which will give you.
13x=-78
or x=-6
again I'm sorry if I'm incorrect.
