Dante Michael's charge account statement showed a previous balance of $277.45 a finance charge of $3.22 new purchases of $299.33 and a payment of $316.00. what is the new balance?

Add up the finance charge and new purchases to the old balance. Then subtract off the payment to lower the balance 

277.45+3.22+299.33-316.00 = 264 

The new balance is $264.
