length = 2x + 4

2x^2 + 4x - 96 = 0
(x - 6)(x + 8) = 0
x = 6 or x = - 8 (rejected, length cannot be negative)

x = 6
2x + 4 = 2(6) + 4 = 16

The length is 16 feet and the width is 4 feet
