The main function of a red blood cell transport the oxygen throughout the body to other cells. It has haemagoblin that allow the binding of oxygen. It’s biconcave shape maximizes the surface area to increase efficiency of oxygen absorption and allows it to “squeeze” through narrow vessels and can enter thinnest capillaries through the body. Red blood cells don’t have a nucleus, so it increases the oxygen capacity.
