Two consecutive natural numbers would be 1 and 2, or 5 and 6, for example.
If the first number is n and the second number is n+1, then you are writing [tex]n+(n+1)=2n+1[/tex].
If the first number is n and the second number is n+1, then you are writing [tex]n+(n+1)=2n+1[/tex].
