Why did the importance of religion delcine tyhroughout the colonies from the seventeenth to the eighteenth century?

Respuesta :

I believe that the importance of religion died down throughout the years in the colonies because of religious toleration, meaning that the colonies did not care what a person's religion was. However, I am not sure about this answer, so I cannot say for sure if this is correct or not. Throughout the years in the Americas, wars broke out over land and independence. Religion was not much in the fight for land and freedom of the country, so this is my answer. Hope I could help with my view and answer.
