You and your friend are selling raffle tickets for a new laptop. You sell 14 more tickets than your friend sells. Together, you and your friend sell 58 tickets. a. Write a system of linear equations that represents this situation. Let x represent the number of tickets you sell and y represent the number of tickets your friend sells.

first subtract 14 to 58 and you will have 44 now divide that by 2 and you will get 22 even now add 14 to one of the 22 to get 36

so sum it up 
X has 36
Y has 22
