Immunity that is genetically determined and present at birth is called innate immunity. The innate immunity is also called inborn immunity. This is the first line of defence against infection and it provides immediate defence. The innate immune system is nonspecific and its activated by the presence of the antigen of a pathogen (virus, bacteria, parasite).
