The American Impressionists painter who was known for paintings focused on the intimacy of mother and child is Mary Cassatt. She was born on May 22, 1844 in Allegheny City, Pennsylvania but she spent her adult life in France where she had her artistic training. She was the sole American painter in Paris to exhibit with the Impressionists. Most of her artworks focused on the domestic theme of women and children. One of her most famous painting was “The Child’s Bath” in 1893.
