The answer is they are rated that beautiful is good. We seem to use the basic stereotype that what is beautiful is good; we accept that attractive people have desirable traits that complement their desirable appearances and we seem to make these judgments automatically, without any conscious thought; a beautiful face triggers an optimistic assessment the moment we see it.
