42208/100              multiply whole number by denominator then add the numerator to that number

The rule to convert a mixed fraction to an improper fraction is

[tex] a\frac{b}{c} =\frac{(a)(c)+b}{c}    [/tex]

Here in [tex] 422\frac{8}{100}   [/tex]

Here a = 422, b = 8 and c = 100

Now a × c = 422 × 100 = 42200

And 42200 + 8 = 42208

So we have

[tex] 422\frac{8}{100} =\frac{(422)(100)+8}{10}=\frac{42200+8}{100}=\frac{42208}{100}   [/tex]

This fraction can also be reduced  as

[tex] \frac{42208}{100}=\frac{10552}{25}    [/tex]

Hence

[tex] 422\frac{8}{100}=\frac{42208}{100}=\frac{10552}{25}       [/tex]
