Bryan cut two peaches that were the same size for lunch. He cut one peach into fourths and the other into sixths. Bryan ate 3 fourths of the first peach. His brother ate 5 sixths of the second peach. Who ate more peach

Respuesta :

Bryan’s brother ate more peach.
His brother because 5/6 is bigger than 3/4. To make these equal, we need to find a number multiple by both denominators.
This is also known as the LCM, lowest common multiple. In this case, 12. We need to get both denominators at 12. Multiply the numerator and denominator by 3. We get 9/12. 9/12 is equal to 3/4. And now 5/6, we multiply both by 2. 10/12

10/12 is bigger than 9/12, so 5/6 (10/12)

Hope that wasn’t too confusing,
