Parasympathetic nervous system is known to be one of the two divisions of the autonomic nervous system and it is responsible for the stimulation of rest and digest activities that usually occur when the body is at rest after eating which includes salivation, urination, sexual arousal and digestion.

After eating a large meal, parasympathetic nerves of your nervous system is activated. Parasympathetic nervous system is the type of autonomic nervous system. It is known as rest. In this type of nervous system, energy is conserved as it slows the heart rate, increases intestinal and gland activity, and relaxes sphincter muscles in the gastrointestinal tract.
