In this scenario the scientists see the first people of North America, the Paleoindians, as an aggressive invasive species that was killing of the native species, and took away the apex predator niche in the food chain from the native apex predators, and overkilled the herbivorous mega fauna. This is know as the ''overkill hypothesis''.
