Hello!
Question 1
Use the Pythagorean Theorem to see if the sides are equal
[tex] 20^{2} + 24^{2} = 31^{2} [/tex]
Square the numbers
400 + 576 = 961
Add
976 = 961
Since the sides are not equal they are not a Pythagorean triple
The answer is no

Question 2
Put in the values into the Pythagorean Theorem to see what triangle it is
[tex]87^{2} +21^{2} =93^{2} [/tex]
Square the numbers
7569 + 441 = 8649
Add
8010 = 8649
Since the it does not for a Pythagorean triple it is not a right triangle
If the two legs added together are bigger than the triangle is acute
If the hypotenuse is a bigger number than the legs then it is obtuse
In this triangle the hypotenuse is bigger so it is an obtuse triangle
The answer is obtuse
Hope this helps!
