A point is reflected over the x-axis and then reflected again over the y-axis. Will the coordinates after these two reflections be the same or different if the points is first reflected over the y-axis and then over the x-axis? Use an example to support your answer.

Please help I'm really stuck on this question.

Respuesta :

Yes it would be different!! Because if the points are reversed then one of them might be negative and the other one may not and this will affect the whole equation. For example: If in a graph the x intercept is -4 and the y intercept is negative 5 (4,-5). If reversed then the leading coefficient which would be x will be negative because you're changing a positive number by a negative number.

HOPE THIS HELPED!! :)
