B. NASA Mission Control--Texas became home to the newly developing NASA program, mission control was located here.
As NASA grew the South became home to the expanding program. Florida had launch sites, Texas had training and mission control centers. Texas also housed the astronauts and their families. The Southwest was a testing site for military and space technology.
