Those contemplating cloud services must ensure that:

  1. they change default passwords into very strong passwords;
  2. users must at the very least configure firewalls to prevent easy access. There are specialized software for this;
  3. users must thoroughly research the cloud service provider before making a purchase;
  4. Regular cybersecurity training will also help users take the best steps in protecting themselves.
