Respuesta :
ATP is short term storage due to the fact that it is produced rapidly and used up just as fast in cells. Fat is long term, usually when there is no energy, fat is burnt up (during exercise is the most common) and used for energy
The functions of Fat and ATP molecules in term of energy storage are the following:
Fat (generally in the form of triacylgericeroles) constitute the body's energy reserve for delayed use.
Their caloric content is very high (10 Kcal / gram), and they represent a compact and anhydrous form of energy storage.
They are stored in neutral intracellular lipid droplets of specialized tissue such as adipose tissue or body fat.
Unlike ATP that provides the energy necessary to enable certain chemical reactions in the body.
ATP at the cellular level stores energy for short periods of time; in other words, it can be considered as the energy exchange currency of the cell.
The energy released when ATP is enzymatically hydrolyzed, turning into ADP and Pi, is used to move endergonic (energy-requiring) biosynthetic reactions anywhere in the cell.
Therefore, we can conclude that fat constitute the body's energy reserve for late or delayed use, unlike ATP, which is a fundamental molecule for various vital processes, since it is the major source of energy for the synthesis of complex macromolecules.
